Microneedling

Micro-needling
Micro needling, also known as collagen induction therapy, offers a minimally invasive approach to enhance your skin’s natural collagen and elastin production. This technique uses a device equipped with tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. As a result, these micro-injuries stimulate the skin’s healing response, improving texture, reducing fine lines, and achieving an overall rejuvenated appearance.
Device Utilized
At Dr. Gill Aesthetics and Wellness Clinics, we use the SkinPen® Precision. This device is notable for being the first FDA-approved micro-needling tool, which ensures its safety and effectiveness. SkinPen® Precision addresses facial acne scars in adults aged 22 and older. Additionally, it improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, surgical scars, enlarged pores, and pigmentation conditions (dyschromia).
Key Benefits of Micro-Needling
Boosts Collagen and Elastin Production: Micro-needling stimulates collagen and elastin production, essential for maintaining skin firmness and elasticity.
Reduces Fine Lines and Scars: By promoting skin regeneration, the procedure helps diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and scars.
Enhances Skin Texture: The treatment smooths and evens out the skin, leading to a more refined texture.
Minimizes Pore Size: Additionally, micro-needling reduces the size of enlarged pores, resulting in a clearer complexion.
Versatile Application: This procedure can be applied to various body areas, including the face, neck, décolletage, and hands.
The tiny punctures created by the microneedling device trigger the skin’s repair process, leading to the
production of collagen and elastin. This improves the skin’s texture, firmness, and can reduce the
appearance of scars, wrinkles, and other skin imperfections.
Microneedling is commonly used to treat various skin concerns, including acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, and enlarged pores. It can also enhance overall skin texture and tone.
The procedure is generally tolerable, but some discomfort may be experienced. Although not generally needed, a topical numbing cream can be used to minimize any potential pain or discomfort during the treatment.
The duration of a microneedling session can vary, but it typically takes about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the area to be treated.
The number of sessions required varies based on individual skin concerns and goals. Typically, a series of 3 to 6 sessions spaced several weeks apart is recommended for optimal results.
